Sister M. Bernadette O'Boyle, IHM

Sister M. Bernadette O'Boyle, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Tuesday, May 10, 1898 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on March 27, 1851 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Mary Ann. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary O'Donnell O'Boyle.  She entered the IHM Congregation on February 1, 1873, received the religious habit on November 21, 1873, and made profession of her vows on April 25, 1876.  She attended St. Joseph's School in Susquehanna.

Sister Bernadette enjoyed her years of teaching children in our IHM mission schools.

She is survived by a brother, John J., and a sister, Catherine Brown.
