Sister M. Paulette Morrison, IHM

Sister M. Paulette Morrison, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died on Friday, July 3, 1981, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, after an illness.

She was born on July 22, 1896 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late James F. and Ann Comer Morrison. She entered the Congregation on December 28, 1917, received the religious habit on August 5, 1918, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1920.

Sister Paulette served as a business teacher at the following schools: St. Joseph High School in Danville, PA; St. Paul High School in Scranton, PA; St. John the Evangelist High School in Scranton, PA; Marywood College in Scranton, PA; as well as at high schools located in Susquehanna and Masontown, PA, LaPlata, MD, and New York, NY. 

Sister served as principal at the following schools: St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA; Cathedral High School in Scranton, PA; St. Ann High School in Scranton, PA; and St. Joseph High School in Williamsport, PA.

She also served as a catechetical instructor at St. Ignatius Catechetical Center in Kingston, PA; library assistant in Pittsburgh, PA; and support staff at the IHM Generalate in Scranton, PA.

From 1975 until the time of her death, Sister Paulette  served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent in Scranton, PA.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary A. Wolff, Ann Morrison, and Helen M. Reinhardt, and two brothers, James Francis and John Joseph.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, July 6 with Mass of Christian Burial in the Marian Convent chapel at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent Sunday afternoon or evening.
