Sister M. Malachi McKernan, IHM

Sister M. Malachi McKernan, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, November 26, 1950.

She was born on July 19, 1877 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and given the name Mary Elizabeth. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Johanna Sullivan McKernan. She entered the IHM Congregation on December 8, 1905, received the religious habit on July 26, 1906, and made profession of vows on July 16, 1908.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis, and two sisters, Katie and Maggie.

She is survived by a sister, Lucy Reid of Wilkes-Barre, PA, nieces and nephews.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
