Sister M. Eusebius Burke, IHM

Sister M. Eusebius Burke, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, April 1, 1939 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

She was born on May 26, 1867 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and given the name Rose. She was the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Bridget Gallagher Burke. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1887, received the religious habit on August 2, 1887, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1889.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Michael Edmund, and five sisters, Anna Lee, Mary Costello, Sabina Williams, Elizabeth Nelson and Bridget Agnes Smurl.

She is survived by two sisters, Sister M. Assissium, IHM, and Theresa Horish, a brother, Edward, nieces and nephews.

Interment is at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
