Sister Jeanne Drummond, IHM
Sister Jeanne Drummond, IHM, (formerly known as Sister Clement Marie) of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, June 10, 1998 at St. Mary's Convent in Manhasset, New York.
She was born on January 26, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of John Joseph and Agnes Helen Brown Drummond. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1959, made temporary profession of her vows on June 27, 1962, and final profession of her vows on June 27, 1967.
Sister Jeanne served as a teacher and principal at the following schools: Cathedral High School in Scranton, PA, from 1964 to 1969; Marywood Seminary in Scranton, PA, from 1969 to 1971; St. Mary of the Mount High School in Pittsburgh, PA, from 1971 to 1973; St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA, 1973 to 1974; Bishop Klonowski High School in Scranton, PA, from 1974 to 1975; and Bishop Hannan High School in Scranton, PA, from 1975 to 1979. She served as a teacher and as the director of academic affairs at St. Mary High School in Manhasset, New York, from 1980 to 1992.
From 1992 until the time of her death, Sister Jeanne served as the assistant principal for academics at St. Mary High School in Manhasset, New York.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics/English from Marywood College, and a Master of Arts degree in mathematics from Villanova University. She was a member of the National Catholic Education Association and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Johnson of Brooklyn, NY, and Eileen Cadigan of Orchard Park, NY, two brothers, John of Arlington, VA, and Michael of Baltimore, MD, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Manhasset, NY. Interment will be at St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, PA.

The death of Sister Jeanne Drummond was a loss felt strongly by the IHM Congregation. Following an illness, Sr. Jeanne died at age 56, still vibrant and active until the time of her death on June 10, 1998. Having served as an IHM sister for 36 years, she was well known as a tenacious woman of conviction who strived to live by her beliefs and values. Her invincible spirit, coupled with a keen wit and sense of humor, shaped her approach as an effective educator and school administrator.
