Sister M. St. Jude Holdren, IHM

Sister M. St. Jude Holdren, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, February 28, 1973 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

She was born on May 31, 1896 in Washingtonville, Pennsylvania, and given the name Marion Alma.  She was the daughter of the late George and Clara Snyder Holdren. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1924, received the religious habit on August 15, 1924, and made profession of her vows on December 28, 1925.

From 1930 until the time of her death, Sister St. Jude served at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, PA, as the hospital receptionist and in the hospital laundry.

She is survived by five brothers, Alfred of South Dakota, John of South Dakota, Charles, George and Stewart, all of Danville, PA, three sisters, Caroline St. Clair of Danville, PA, Phoebe Bogart of Washingtonville, PA, and Maxine Carver of California, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
