Sister M. Rose Regina Mainguth, IHM

Sister M. Rose Regina Mainguth, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died Thursday, July 17, 1980 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an illness.

She was born on June 19, 1905 in Bitumen, Pennsylvania, and given the name Mary. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Drabic Maniguth.  She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1927, received the religious habit on December 29, 1927, and made profession of her vows on  December 27, 1929.

Sister Rose Regina served as a teacher of intermediate grades at the following schools: All Saints Elementary School in Masontown, PA; St. Rose Elementary School in Carbondale, PA; and at schools located in Rhode Island and North Carolina.  She also served in child care for resident children at St. Patrick's Orphanage in Scranton, PA.

From 1974 until the time of her death, Sister Rose Regina served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph.

She is survived by three brothers, William of Renovo, PA, Paul of Pisa, Italy, and Michael of Brandon, FL, two sisters, Anna Humphries of Cleveland, OH, and Catherine McGillick of Maple Heights, OH, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, July 14 with Mass of Christian Burial in the Marian Convent Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call at the Marian Convent Sunday afternoon and evening.
