Sister M. Zita McGlynn, IHM

Sister M. Zita McGlynn, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, March 26, 1955 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

She was born on October 13, 1876 in Stockton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Margaret (Madge).  She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Bridget McElwee McGlynn.  She entered the IHM Congregation on June 25, 1897, received the religious habit on February 2, 1898, and made profession of her vows on April 16, 1900.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Owen, and two sisters, Ellen Farrell and Bridget M. Kane.

She is survived by three brothers, Daniel, Jeremiah, and James A., all of Wilkes-Barre, PA; nieces and nephews, including a niece in community, Sister Zita Marie Kane, IHM.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
