Archival Remembrance:

The sudden death of Sr. Kathleen Maher (the former Sr. M. Teresetta) on September 3 was a shock to all who knew her. A woman of fidelity, courage and joy, Sr. Kathleen's love of people and her profound, yet simple goodness had touched the hearts of many. An elementary school teacher, she welcomed students into her heart and taught them to delight in the beauty and wonder of every person. Her years of ministry took her into classrooms in Manhasset, East Rockaway and New York, NY; Bridgeport, CT; Bellefonte and Spangler, PA; and Cranston, RI. Her deep belief in the provident care of God is a consolation for those who mourn the loss of her life here, including her sister and brother, and by the sisters who lived in community with her for the past 18 years, at St. Mary's Convent in Manhasset, NY.
