Sister M. Alexis Hewitt, IHM

Sister M. Alexis Hewitt, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, July 3, 1940.

She was born on December 10, 1831 in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, and given the name Anna.  She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Hannah Barry Hewitt.  She entered the IHM Congregation on March 25, 1889, received the religious habit on October 3, 1889, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1891.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James and two sisters, Mary and Helen.

She is survived by a sister, Sister M. Marion, IHM.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
