Sister M. Teresina Thompson, IHM

Sister M. Teresina Thompson, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, August 24, 1977 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on February 9, 1893 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and was the daughter of the late William and Johanna White Thompson.  She entered the IHM Congregation on December 8, 1912, received the religious habit on August 2, 1913, and made profession of her vows on July 7, 1915.

Sister Teresina served as a teacher in the following schools: St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Scranton, PA; Cathedral Elementary School in Scranton, PA; St. Paul Elementary School in Cranston, RI; St. Ann Elementary School in Scranton, PA; Most Holy Rosary in Syracuse, NY; Sacred Heart of Mary Elementary School in Jermyn, PA; St. Rosalia Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA; St. Agnes Elementary School in Baltimore, MD; and Epiphany School in Sayre, PA.

From 1971 until the time of her death, she served in prayer ministry at the Marian Convent. 

Interment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
