Sister Aurelia Marie McDevitt, IHM

Sister Aurelia Marie McDevitt, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, July 29, 1931.

She was born on March 15, 1906 in St. Benedict, Pennsylvania, and given the name Gertrude. She was the daughter of Thomas and Gertrude Mullin McDevitt. She entered the IHM Congregation on August 15, 1925, received the religious habit on December 28, 1925, and made profession of her vows on December 29, 1927.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James (infant) and Daniel.

She is survived by five brothers, Hugh of Pottstown, PA, Ivan of Patton, PA, Max, Jerome and Richard, all of St. Benedict, PA; three sisters, Alice Wishoski of Wilkinsburg, PA, Rose McDevitt of St. Benedict, PA, and Mae McDevitt of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
