Sister M. Anastasia Winters, IHM

Sister M. Anastasia Winters, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on May 11, 1937 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

Daughter of the late Robert and Mary Jane Heavey Winters, she was born on March 3, 1872 in Friendsville, Pennsylvania; and given the name Sara.  She entered the IHM Congregation on November 1, 1892, received the religious habit on July 4, 1893, and made profession of her vows on July 1, 1895.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Monsignor Peter C. Winters; and a sister, Ellen T. Kinney.

She is survived by a brother, John; a niece, Anna Mae Keenan; a nephew, Frank Kinney; and a grandnephew, Robert Bernard Keenan.

Interment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
