Sister Thomas Marie Anglin, IHM

Sister Thomas Marie Anglin, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died on Saturday, March 3, 1979 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on August 10, 1905 in Staten Island, NY, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Killoran Anglin.  She entered the IHM Congregation on August 2, 1923, received the religious habit on December 27, 1923, and made profession of her  vows August 15, 1925.

Sister Thomas Marie served as a teacher at the following schools: Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Mary Elementary School in Patton; St. Raymond Elementary School in Lynbrook, NY; St. Peter of Alcantara Elementary School  in Port Washington, NY; St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School in Ashville, PA; St. Mary of the Assumption Elementary School in Upper Marlboro, MD; St. Joseph in Renovo; St. Rose Elementary School in Carbondale; Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School in Inwood, NY; St. Paul Elementary School in Edgewood, RI; St. Mary Elementary School in Avoca; St. Ann Elementary School in Nyack, NY; St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Clinton, MD; as well as at elementary schools located in Scranton, PA; and Baltimore, MD.

From 1977 until the time of her death, she has served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Eugene.

She is survived by a sister, Catherine Kircher, and a brother, Joseph, both of Staten Island, NY, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be on Monday, March 5, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Marian Convent Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Marian Convent all day Sunday, March 4. Internment will follow Mass on Monday at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
