Sister M. Antonita Regan, IHM

Sister M. Antonita Regan, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died on August 1, 1978.

Daughter of the late Edward J. and Vera Wade Regan, she born on January 5, 1924 in Scranton, Pennsylvania; and was given the name Ann.  She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1941, received the religious habit on May 8, 1942, and made profession of her vows on May 8, 1944.

Sister Antonita taught at the following schools: St. Dominic in Oyster Bay, NY, from 1944 to 1946; St. Mary of the Mount in Pittsburgh, from 1946 to 1951; Matthew of Mercy in Washington, NC, from 1951 to 1953; St. Rosalia in Pittsburgh, from 1953 to 1957; St. Michael's Industrial School in Hoban Heights, from 1957 to 1964 and 1972 to 1974; St. Leo in Ashley, from 1964 to 1967; IHM in Cresco, from 1967 to 1968; St. Clare in Scranton, from 1968 to 1969; St. Paul in Scranton, from 1969 to 1972; Nativity in Scranton, from 1974 to 1976; and Bishop O'Hara in Dunmore, from 1977 to 1978.  

From 1978 until the time of her death, she served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She is preceded in death by a brother.  

She is survived by cousins.

Interment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
