Sister M. Cormac Bohan, IHM

Sister M. Cormac Bohan, IHM,  of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Sunday, November 2, 1980 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an extended illness.

She was born on January 6, 1891 in Pittston, Pennsylvania, and was the of the late Cormac R. and Mary Kearney Bohan. She entered the IHM Congregation on January 6, 1913, received the religious habit on August 2, 1913, and made profession of her vows on July 6, 1915.

Sister Cormac served as a teacher at the following schools: Most Holy Rosary High School in Syracuse, NY; Altoona Catholic High School in Altoona, PA; St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay, NY; St. Leo High School in Ashley, PA; as well as at high schools located in Scranton, PA and New York City, NY. 

Sister Cormac also served on the faculty in the mathematics department at Marywood College in Scranton, PA, from 1947 until 1968.

From 1968 until the time of her death, she served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She is preceded in death by three brothers, William, Maurice and Thomas; and two sisters Sister M. Virgilius, IHM, and Regina Burke.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday, November 4 with Mass of Christian Burial in the Marian Convent Chapel at 9:30 a.m., interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Monday afternoon and evening.
