Sister M. Agnita Kane, IHM

Sister M. Agnita Kane, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, March 23, 1969 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on September 28, 1878 in Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania, and given the name Mary. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ellen Conway Kane. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1903, received the religious habit on December 29, 1903, and made profession of her vows on December 29, 1905.

Sister Agnita served as a domestic at the following: St. Joseph's Convent in Scranton, PA; St. Cecilia's Convent in Scranton, PA; St. Patrick's Convent in Olyphant, PA; St. Paul's Convent in Scranton, PA; St. John the EvangelistConvent in Scranton, PA; St. Joseph's Convent in Williamsport, PA; St. Ann's Convent in Scranton, PA; St. Patrick's Convent in La Plata, MD; St. Patrick's Orphanage in Scranton, PA and St. Mary's Convent in Avoca, PA.

From 1962 until the time of her death, Sister Agnita served in prayer ministry at the Marian Convent.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
