Sister M. Padua Reilly, IHM
Sister M. Padua Reilly, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, March 3, 1957 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Callahan Reilly, she was born on December 31, 1885 in Pittston, Pennsylvania; and given the name Agnes Genevieve. She entered on January 6, 1909, received the religious habit on April 13, 1909, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1911.
Sister Padua served in child care for resident children at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Scranton; as a nurse's aide at St. Agnes Convent in Elmhurst; and as a domestic at Nativity Convent in Scranton.
Interment will follow the Mass of Christian burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.

Sister M. Padua served God and our Community by her arduous years of labor especially at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. Sister Padua's selfless ways led her to enjoy many years of service there. Later, she spent herself in loving care of our retired Sisters at St. Agnes' Convent, Elmhurst. Here she made herself the servant of all, performing the many ministrations necessary for the ill. Her saving sense of humor brightened her task, as it heartened the lonely days of those whom she served. Then in her years of serious illness, she struggled with little strength to help the Sisters at Nativity Convent. Her days at the Marian Convent were spent in great physical distress, born patiently as coming from God. She edified all by her fervent prayers and by her gratitude for the care bestowed on her. Her service, her prayer, and her suffering were her fervent offerings to God.
