Sister Paul Marie Viedeffer, IHM

Sister Paul Marie Viedeffer of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Tuesday evening, April 15, 1980, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, after an extended illness.

Daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Schnell Veideffer, she was born on October 27, 1905 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She entered the IHM Congregation on July 1, 1925, received the religious habit on December 28, 1925, and made profession of vows on December 28, 1927.

Sister Paul Marie served as a teacher at schools located in Pittsburgh, Altoona, Renovo, Masontown and Pittston. She later served as a librarian at schools located in Ashley, Lock Haven and Williamsport. 

From 1979 until the time of her death, she served as a prayer minister at the Marin Convent.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Helen Smith of Williamsport; a niece, Mrs. Anne Spotts; and a nephew, John Veideffer.

The funeral will be Friday; with Mass of Christian Burial in the Marian Convent Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent Thursday afternoon or evening.
