Sister M. St. Andrew Connor, IHM

Sister M. St. Andrew Connor, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Tuesday, March 5, 1985, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an illness.

She was born on August 21, 1908 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary O'Boyle Connor.  She entered the IHM Congregation from Cathedral Parish on August 14, 1926, received the reli­gious habit on December 28, 1926, and made profession of her vows on January 2, 1929.

Sister St. Andrew taught primary grades at the following schools: St. Peter Cathedral Elementary School in Scranton, PA; St. Mary School in Goldsboro, NC; and elementary schools located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Sister St. Andrew served as a catechetical instructor at: St. Ignatius Catechetical Center in Kingston, PA; St. Agnes Catechetical Center in Forest City, PA; St. John the Evangelist Catechetical Center in Binghamton, NY; St. Ambrose Parish in Bridgeport, CT; and parishes located in Barnesboro, PA.

In 1973 until the time of her death, Sister St. Andrew served a support staff member at the Marian Convent.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas Connor of Arlington of Virginia, nieces and nephews, and first cousins, including, Sister M. Bernardina McAndrew, IHM, at the Marian Convent, and Sister Miriam Eugene Carroll, IHM, at St. Mary's Convent in Dunmore, PA.

The funeral will be Friday, March 8 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Marian Convent chapel. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent Thursday afternoon or evening.
