Sister Mary Celestine Gorman, IHM

Sister Mary Celestine Gorman, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, February 19, 1876 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on February 6, 1845 in Choconut, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, and given the name Bridget.  She was the daughter of Mary Flanagan Gorman and the late John Gorman.  She entered the IHM Congregation on August 3, 1872, received the religious habit on April 14, 1873, and made profession of her vows on November 1, 1875.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Francis J. and a sister, Ann. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Perry Francis of Logan Township, PA, a niece and a nephew.

Interment is at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
