Sister M. Michaela Mollica, IHM

Sister M. Michaela Mollica, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on April 3, 1914 in Susquehanna, PA, and given the name Lena Mary. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Liberata Tomassi Mollica. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1933, made temporary profession of her vows on August 2, 1935, and final profession of her vows on August 1, 1938.

Sister Michaela also served as supervisor of the business office at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, PA, from 1935 to 1998.

From 1998 until the time of her death, Sister Michaela served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in science from Marywood College.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Louise, and a brother, Peter.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Parrill of Hallstead, PA, and Anna Trapanese of Denver, CO, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at the Marian Convent followed by interment at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Wednesday, May 21, between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
