Sister M. Annabelle McMahon, IHM

Sister M. Annabelle McMahon, IHM, of the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Tuesday, April 2, 1991 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an illness.

She was born August 17, 1913 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and was the aughter of the late Thomas A. and Esther Mary Griffin McMahon.  She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1932, received the religious habit on April 24, 1933, and made profession of her vows on April 30, 1935.

Sister Annabelle served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Peter of Alcantara Elementary School in Port Washington, NY; Immaculate Conception Elementary School in West Pittston, PA; St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Scranton, PA; Marywood Seminary in Scranton, PA; and at elementary schools located on Long Island, NY.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary, and a brother, James G.

She is survived by a sister, Ann Persons of Bethlehem, PA, and a nephew.

The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the Marian Convent chapel. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania.  Friends may call on Thursday afternoon or evening at the Marian Convent.
