Sister M. Constance Roche, IHM

Sister M. Constance Roche, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Monday, March 22, 1948.

She was born on October 22, 1871 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Mary.  She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Wren Roche. She entered the IHM Congregation on July 1, 1893, received the religious habit on December 28, 1893, and made profession of her vows on April 9, 1896.

Sister Constance enjoyed her years of teaching children in our IHM mission schools, including at Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY, where she also served as superior in 1915.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and Charles.

She is survived by a brother, John Francis, a sister, Margaret L. Gilloegly, and several nieces and nephews, including Sister Clare, IHM and Sister M. Lois, IHM.

Interment is at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Pittston, Pennsylvania.
