Sister M. Gaudentia Pelland, IHM

Sister M. Gaudentia Pelland, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, March 8, 1967.

She was born on January 28, 1908 in Providence, Rhode Island, and given the name Mary Irene. She was the daughter of the late François "Frank" and Laura H. Levesque Pelland. She entered the IHM Congregation in 1926, received the religious habit on December 29, 1927, and made profession of her vows on August 1, 1933.

Sister Gaudentia enjoyed her years of teaching children in IHM mission schools, and had many fond memories of her time at St. Dominic School in Oyster Bay, NY, from 1959 to 1961.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Marie (infant) and Laura.

She is survived by three brothers, Francis, Arthur C., and Oscar J., a sister, Eva M, and a nephew, Edward.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
