“Bringing About God's Dream” Retreat
“Bringing about God’s Dream” was the theme for the weekend retreat with Liz Sweeney, SSJ, March 24-26. Approximately 90 sisters and associates gathered at the Theresa Maxis Conference Center, and others watched via Ustream and closed circuit tv. In her masterful way, Liz built on prior presentations utilizing the practice of contemplative dialogue in an effort to continue unpacking the IHM Direction Statement. At the start Liz emphasized that intention matters, that the process of Imagining the Way Forward and the Dialogue Groups are an act of love for the world by way of listening, loving, practicing in an attitude of compassion. Liz engaged the group in frequent experiences of contemplation for the sake of connecting to the collective “I Am.” In so doing she referenced that piece of the Direction Statement to “embrace a life of radical interdependence” as a journey toward transformation born of love for the sake of God’s dream. On a personal note, she “loves that we get her…that we can co-create together.”
