Imagining the Way Forward Gathering Held at Our Lady of Grace, Manhassett
We speak of ‘new life’ in our congregation a great deal. Most of the time those two words refer to women discerning and choosing to commit to religious life. What many of us forget is that ‘new life’ refers to every day and to every sister, recreating her life in our IHM vocation.
As we gathered together for the weekend as a cohort of IHM sisters 30, 40, 50 and 60 years old, we were given the opportunity to come to know one another on a deeper level. Sharing our strengths and gifts, as well as our vulnerabilities, we met in a circle of trust, clearly promising to one another a non-judgmental, safe space where we could be ourselves. We spent time sharing thought-provoking articles, inspiring videos and the results of a StrengthsFinder Assessment.
We, the participants in Imagining the Way Forward, express our deepest gratitude to our sisters for sharing life with us, supporting us and helping us to stand on the shoulders of all who have gone before us. We treasure your prayer, enthusiasm and support! Stay tuned for more to come!
