41st annual Friends of the Poor Thanksgiving Community Program

IHM Sisters, colleagues, volunteers, and media gathered at the Scranton Cultural Center on October 10, 2017 for a press conference to kick off the 41st annual Friends of the Poor Thanksgiving Community Program. This was the first press conference led by Meghan Loftus, who recently succeeded Sister Ann Walsh as president and CEO of Friends of the Poor.

Of Sister Ann, whom she followed as CEO, Meghan Loftus remarked, "I'm amazed at the end of the day at the energy she has and the hope she provides to everyone in need."

And of Ms. Loftus, Sister Ann noted, "She comes with great experience and education, but above and beyond that, a passion for our mission and ministry."

Included in the Thanksgiving Community Program: are an Interfaith Prayer service, November 11 at Temple Hesed; a Thanksgiving community dinner at the Scranton Cultural Center, November 21; and the Family to Family program, offering food baskets to those in need, November 22.
