Window Dedicated in Honor of IHM Sisters

On November 13 six IHM Sisters from the Scranton area journeyed by van to Goldsboro, North Carolina, joining three additional IHMs for the dedication of a stained glass window of Our Lady in appreciation for the eighty-one years of service given by the IHM Sisters to St. Mary’s School and parish. The pastor, Reverend Alex Gonzalez, spoke of the devotion of the people and his joy at the presence of the IHM sisters on this occasion. Deacon James Webster gave the homily at the liturgy reviewing the history of IHM presence in the parish, and reiterating the pastor’s expression of appreciation.

A reception followed the liturgy at which the sisters were able to renew old friendships with former pupils and friends from the parish. The sisters were delighted to be present for the occasion. Sister Le- onette Bower stated, "The occasion was spiritually uplifting, bringing deep appreciation and fond memories."
