Retreat Held: To Embody the Presence of Love—Essential Practices

Since November of 2014 Liz Sweeney, SSJ, has been a guide for the congregation in the practice of integral consciousness. Reverently she has provided presentations in which sisters and associates have engaged in cultivating a “communal soul.”  The weekend of November 16  was no exception. Liz began by asking, "What does love taste like, smell like, feel like?" In this framework she created the container for the practice of contemplative consciousness where deep conversation around both one’s personal shadow and the congregation’s collective shadow were explored. Additionally, Liz encouraged the group to be intentional and conscious in embodying the presence of love. She provided cards for daily prayer and practice.

Today…May I…May We...
Engage in individual and communal contemplation.
Rest in the heart of Love’s presence. I AM.

Embody this presence of Love,
our union with Christ, more
consciously in all our encounters,
in our joys and in our stresses.

Deepen the bonds of relationship among us and expand the
inclusivity of our love beyond us.

Practice examen and do
shadow work with any situation
where I and we are not yet able to embody
Love’s presence.
